What I've Baked So Far

I love to bake! Well i love to try to bake actually. So for the past few months, I've tried banana cake, did victoria sandwich cake twice, nutella brownies and latest I did bread butter pudding, mini pavlova and rainbow cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. 

I did twice for banana cake actually, because the first time I make it, its a wrong recipe sooooo it turned out like bengkang pisang instead. Haha. But the second time was perfect! It was moist and you can actually taste the banana. I love it! 

Nutella brownies was made from the 3 ingredients recipe; eggs, flour and nutella, I added walnuts because I love crunchy brownies. It was okay, a bit sweet for me but Adam seems to like it. 

The rainbow cupcakes needs improvement because although it is moist, but the appearance is a bit out. Haha. Pavlova was okay, except that when it gets to room temperature the base will be a bit sticky. I believe it's because I put it outside too quick. But other than that, i think it's perfect! :) 

Next on my list would be red velvet cake with cream cheese topping. Hopefully I can make it as a good as Wondermilk! Insyallah. Can't find pictures of other desserts I've make so far so yeaaah this will do. Will update moreee! 

         

Day 2 in Paris

Second day began with breakfast at home, since groceries are quite cheap there, we had croissants (cheap and yummy!) with tuna (brought from Malaysia) and vegetables, the bananas are super huge and we bought that as our snack since it can get pretty tiring walking around.

We’ve decided yesterday that today’s destination will be Montmartre. Montmartre is famous for its Basilica of the Sacre Coeur, the big and beautiful church overlooking the city and Moulin Rouge with its famous red windmill. Montmartre is also famous with the artists that have worked or studied there such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh just to name a few. However we had quite a bad experience there, as we were stopped by a group of Africans wanting to “give” us the friendship bracelet. It was quite scary as they just interrupt you while you’re walking and there’s no way for you to actually escape them, because there’s like 5, 6 of them and they are all around you. Adam was duped 40 euros because they said we had to pay for it, and unfortunately Adam gave him a big amount of money expecting it was only 10 euro. He was pretty mad but what’s important that no one got hurt and no one lose anything. Everyone was pretty tensed after that, but decided not to let that one incident ruined our day so we proceeded with our activity, we took the tour bus (6 euro) to go round the area. It was pretty huge actually; don’t think we can cover it all by foot. We then had light lunch at one of the cafes; their Nutella banana crepe was to die for!

We were pretty pumped out that day so Adam and I decided to go visit another Paris must visit place, Musee du Lourve. The Lourve, is one of the world’s largest museum and one of historic monument in Paris. Note the word visit, unfortunately we just took our picture in front of it instead of going in, reason being, we are not artsy enough to enjoy the museum, so to spend 10 euros just to see Mona Lisa, was something we would rather not to.  

Basically it was a free and easy trip, having no tour guide and all, so we are free to go anywhere at our convenience. So after looking through the map, we decided to go to Pont des Arts, around 20 minutes away from the Lourve, where we locked two padlocks to the fence, and throw the keys onto the Seine River, as a sign of our undying love. Eceh! It was cheesy but hey, once in a while is okay.  According to what I’ve read, there are two bridges that you can pledge your love; Pont des Arts and Pont de l’Archeveche; the difference so it seems that the former is for your committed love and the latter is for your lover. Well at that time, I didn’t know about this two bridge, so we just headed to the nearest. It doesn’t matter anyway. Hehe.

And of course, we are too excited to see Eiffel Tower in real life, so we then headed to Trocadero, it was beautiful from far. It really was, it was huge and majestic and you can’t help but to feel something inside, especially when you’re with your other half. It was super cold although it was around 7 pm, so we decided to head back home instead.

Random

Where I am now, I have to put on a mask, to always be cautious of what I said, and to always find the right person to vent out my frustrations and anger, honest opinions and thoughts. 

Although I'm not too sure if I'm doing the right thing by speaking up too early, but I felt like I have to, I don't know or care what will happen. As long as I speak up what I feel and don't let anyone to step on me.

It doesn't make any sense I know. But God has his ways, and I'm anxious to know what are His plans for me. Insyallah

#Throwbackwedding

THE Ring.

One of my favourite items from my hantaran would be my wedding ring. For those who are looking and am quite fussy with how you want it to be, I’d suggest you custom made it at Fa’iq at Bangsar Shopping Centre. Well, cause I did mine there, and I’m very satisfied with it. Alhamdulillah.

It may look expensive, but trust me; we managed to custom it within the budget Adam has set for me. They are very professional, they screwed up the first time I did the first fitting, but rest assured, at the second fitting, I’m convinced it’ll turned out beautiful, and it did.

I believe we got the best deal for the diamond I think, so sparkly. Love it so much I couldn’t take my eyes of off it the moment we went to pick it up.

So head on there to have a look, I’m sure you will definitely found your perfect ring there, or rather, you could always custom as per your favourite expensive rings.

Anakin the Cat

We bought a cat last week, it was the first pedigree cat for me, a Ragdoll to be specific. We named it Anakin, it was my idea to name it that because of Adam's love for Star Wars. At 2 months old, we found it to be quite time consuming for us to keep him. He eats wet food, and we tried to change it to dry food, but after a while we decided to stick to wet food because he won't even touch the dry food even when we mixed both the dry and wet food. 

Character wise, he's one annoying cat. Haha. Always meow-ing, but very intelligent and obedient. As we had this one experience where he did his small business on the carpet, I scolded him and we told him not to step foot on the carpet, and he did just that. He would not dare to play on the carpet, or if he accidentally be on the carpet, we would just say "No Anakin!" and he would reverse back out of the carpet. 

But we think that he is still too small for us to keep him, as we both had to go out to work at around 7 and will only be back at around 6, and we have to put him in at the back toilet, with all the food of course, but it really breaks my heart to hear him being all alone, as we did not trust him to be outside just as yet. 

So yesterday we meet up with this one guy, he seems nice, and have few cats on his own, and we decided to give Anakin away. I can still remember his face while we're on the way to the meet up place, he was having this confuse face, something like "where are we 
going?" and "are you going to sell me to someone else?". 

After the transaction was done, after Adam handed me the money, I asked him did he say goodbye to Anakin, and he did and I asked how was he at that time and Adam said, he was quiet as if he knew what was happening.

And I cried, haih. I'm so sorry Anakin. We just don't have the time to keep you as our pet. I still feel sad now, when I cleaned up his bowl and his litter and threw away his old food. Hmmm. I just miss him so much. 

But it's just for the best. I'll miss you everyday Anakin. And I will always remember you.

         

Paris, The Beginning

Paris. I’ll always remember Paris, as it is our honeymoon spot, and it is actually the first time I went overseas, love it that my first time outside Malaysia (Phnom Penh does not count anyway, haha!) with Adam.

We arrived at Charles De Gaulle Airport after 12 long hour’s flight; thank god it was a night flight, as we reached Paris early in the morning so we certainly did not waste any time. After making sure Abg Yeen and the kids are okay, we went our separate ways, us to Gare du Nord where our tiny apartment is located and them to Champs Elysees.

I love the neighbourhood. The abundance of supermarket and halal food shop along the stretch, we are definitely at a safe place. There’s McDonalds like few minutes’ walk from our apartment, the central station for metro (Gare de Est) are also 5 minutes away. Our apartment was just nice for us two. I guess it’s sort of like a studio apartment as we have one bedroom, and the funny thing about that apartment was that, the toilet is separated from the bathroom. Quite funny I must say but good experience.  It was a lovely apartment by the way. It is owned by Sarah, lovely person although when we got there, we were greeted by the boyfriend (Hugo) instead. The only downside is that we have to go up 3 storeys by stairs. Haha! Thank god we didn’t have that much luggage.

After a much needed rest, we got excited to visit the supermarkets and halal food shops. We then proceed to go to Galleries La Fayette, the famous shopping malls in Paris. There it is quite interesting to note that unlike in Malaysia where both gender’s things can be found in one mall, there they separate the malls according to genders; Homme for Men and Femme for Women. But I would say the malls are small, so it’s not that tiring to go through few malls in one day.  We didn’t buy anything there, as it is only the first day and we intend to shop more at the outlets. We then meet up with Abg Yeen and the kids, and returned to Champ Elysees.

Champs Elysees is one the must go place in Paris, it is one of the most famous street and the stretch of shops, cafes, cinemas and etc. runs about 1.91 km! There, we have two famous French monuments, both at each end of the stretch, Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. We tried walking to Place de la Concorde, it seems not that far, but please do not underestimate the distance. It took us quite a while to reach there, and once there, we’re so happy we get to see the most famous monument in Paris, the Eiffel Tower although it’s like teeny weeny small. Haha.

That pretty much wraps up our first day in Paris.
